The Pocono Mountains, located in Pennsylvania, is another popular summer vacation destination for couples looking to escape their daily activities.  Pocono resorts are most often known for their wintertime activities; however, the resorts are open all year long.  While the temperature may not be tropical, Pocono resorts are ideal for those looking for privacy. 

Similar to the, above mentioned, Pocono resorts, Paris, France is not considered a tropical destination.  Despite Paris’s weather variations, it is often considered one of the most romantic cities in the world.  Once you arrive in Paris, you will see that romance is in the air.  In addition to hotels with a romantic theme, you will find a number of amazing tourist attractions.  The Eiffel Tower is a place where many couples reconnect and reaffirm their love for each other. 

Tahiti, the Pocono’s, Paris, and Barbados are just a few of the many popular summer vacation destinations that are designed for lovers.  In addition to visiting a specific destination, you can schedule a romantic cruise.  A large number of popular cruise lines offer cruise ships that are designed specifically for couples.  Aboard a cruise ship you are likely to find a number of exciting, relaxing, and romantic activities. 

In addition to onboard activities, cruise ships often dock in a number of ports.  A cruise ship with a romantic theme is likely to select ports with romantic settings. Depending on the cruise ship in question, you are often allowed a few hours or a whole day to explore the port.  For many couples, this exploration often feels like a whole separate experience.

The above mentioned locations are popular summer vacation destinations for couples.  If these locations are out of your reach, do not worry.  There are thousands, if not millions, of other summer vacation destinations for you to choose from.

Each year, a large number of individuals make the decision to take a summer vacation.  Summer vacations are decided on for a number of different reasons.  Their main purpose is to experience excitement, fun, and something new.  If you love the outdoors, you could choose a summer vacation destination that allows you to relax in your element.

When it comes to outdoor summer vacation destinations, most individuals make the decision to go camping.  Camping is a fun, outdoor activity that many people enjoy.  Unfortunately, when it comes to summer vacation ideas, there are many individuals who feel that camping does not qualify.  This is simply not true.  If you are interested in spending your summer vacation camping outdoors, you may be wondering what types of vacation destinations are available to you. 

In the Untied States, camping is not as popular as it used to be. Despite the decline in popularity, a large number of individuals and families still enjoy camping.  To tailor to those individuals, a large number of public campgrounds have been developed.  If you are searching for a popular vacation destination, you are encouraged to examine public campgrounds.

When examining public campgrounds, you are likely to find that there are a number of campgrounds in or around the area that you live.  This is because there are a large number of campgrounds in the United States.  If you wish, you can make reservations with a local campground.  For added excitement and a change of scenery, you may want to consider making reservations at a campground in another city or state. 

Before deciding on a particular campground, it is important to examine the layout of the grounds.  Unfortunately, a large number of public campgrounds have close corridors.  This means that you and your family could be a few feet away from other campers.  If you wish to experience camping, but privately, you may want to consider selecting a state park as your vacation destination. 

Selecting a state park to vacation at is a fairly easy decision. The only problem with doing so is the number of choices that you will have.  A number of states have at least twenty or more state parks.  If you are interested in choosing a state park, you are encouraged to consider the amount of distance you are willing to travel.  Since state parks are located all around the United States, you may be able to find a local state park.  If traveling is not a problem, it may be a nice getaway to visit another area of the country. 

Whether you choose to select a vacation destination at a state park or a public campground, you are encouraged to keep the onsite activities in mind. Without a large number of activities, you could find that camping can easily become boring.  You are encouraged to look for campgrounds or state parks that offer boating, swimming, hiking, biking, outdoor sports, and other outdoor activities.  Most state parks and campgrounds will have a number of these activities, but it is still advised that you verify so ahead of time.

To learn more about the activities available at a particular campground or state park, you can individually search a number of these destinations.  As previously mentioned, in the United States, there are a large number of states that have public campgrounds and state parks that allow camping.  Popular camping destinations include Upstate New York, California, Oregon, Texas, and North Carolina.

In addition to being able to research a particular campground or state park online, you may be able to make online reservations.  During the summer months, camping becomes fairly popular.  To ensure that you are able to select the perfect campground site, you are encouraged to make your reservations well in advance.

If you’re vacationing in New York City with children you may find that doing all outdoor activities can be quite tiresome for all involved but going through museum after museum might not do the trick for all of your children. Children enjoy doing hands on activities that all museums simply don’t readily allow for. This is where planning creative outlets for your children during your vacation can have a wonderful impact on everyone’s enjoyment of the time spent in New York.

In addition you may discover a talent your child has that you’d have never known about otherwise. Some of the most interesting crafting types of opportunities in New York City will be mentioned here. I’m sure there are more that won’t make the list but there are only so many hours in any given day.

The first store to make my list is based upon a creative outlet that has shown a rapid rise in popularity over the last few years, painting your own pottery. The name of the store is The Painted Pot and you are allowed to select and paint your own pottery. You can even take pottery wheel classes with your little one if you are brave enough but it is quite likely that you will have a wonderful time and be able to bring your artwork home with you upon your return for vacation. Remember that there is firing time involved so do this early during the week if it’s going to be on your list of things to do. Otherwise you’ll need to arrange shipping to have your child’s creations sent home to you.

For those of you who have promising musicians, how about a day at Triple Z Music Recording Workshops? This is a rather costly excursion but your child will gain actual studio experience and bring home a CD of their music at the end of the day. Kids will learn about life on both sides of the booth and this is a great idea for older children who have indicated a sincere interest in music.

If you’d like to really impress your youngsters take them to the Cloisters, which is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum that centers on the art and architecture of medieval Europe. Your kids will feel as though they’ve stepped into a fairy tale. It is also a good idea to check out the works of art at the Met as well as this is one of the more kid friendly museums that wasn’t designed specifically for children.

You should also be aware of stores like Toys R Us in Times Square and FAO Schwarz, which each have unique offerings designed to enchant and entertain children. You’ll have a ball watching your children have fun in these neat stores and you may find yourself having fun right along with them. Just make sure no one is watching of course. There are many other stores that have something to offer children of all ages, be sure to check it out and see which stores you find appealing and which stores your children might find fascinating.

Keep in mind that New York City has many wonderful parks that present excellent opportunities for your youngsters to get out, about, and run off some pent up energy. I think it’s very important that you schedule some serious park time for your children while you’re visiting New York in order to keep you all sane through the times that they are not fully entertained and prone to wondering minds.

It is also important when traveling with very small children that you schedule some sort of quiet time for them during the day. Children are so prone to sensory overload if they aren’t provided with some sort of quiet place in which to unwind for a bit. Mid afternoon is a great time to go back to your room, freshen up, allow the little kids a bit of a break and the parents and older kids a little break from the noise and the crowds as well. Everyone will be much happier if your remember to schedule this vitally important rest time when planning your day.
