Years ago, I used to play Football, now that was a long time, before most of you were even born, but football has changed an awful lot since then, the plays are different, the players are also different. I played Wing Back and I haven’t heard that term used for a long time. One thing that has not changed that much in the game though is the injuries occurring during the game and practices. There are scrapes, scratches, bumps, and bruises and even some of the things that are more serious, like broken bones, pulled muscles and a good ding on the head can cause a concussion, which could result in more serious damage.

Back when I played, our coach had a first aid kit right there so he could take care of the problems, except when an ambulance was required. There was not a day go by that someone did not get bunged up a bit, some serious, some not so serious, but they all required some of the items from that good ole First Aid Kit. Our coach would always have to get some more bandages, splints, medication and you name it. Something always had to be replaced, but our coach didn’t seem to mind that, what he didn’t like was when someone would be injured, it didn’t matter to him how serious it was, they were all serious to him. He would try his best to patch us up. But then when the game or practice was over, he would call us at home on the phone to make certain we were alright. I will always remember him for what he had done and tried to do for HIS team. He was a very caring person, more like a Mother to us than simply a coach. If our injury was serious enough, he would even come to our home to make certain we were alright, that day, or the next day, and even the day after that.

Today, our coaches do not have to carry around the First Aid Kit, they have medics right there to take care of ANY injury or bruise. I also have to respect them, but not as much as MY coach. Some of the medics are young, good looking ladies, WOW! I wish they had have had the ladies involved back when I played, but that is like time changing.

Today, returning from the bank, we passed a gas station and I seen the prices of the gas now, premium for $2.45 a gallon. I pointed that out to my lovely wife, telling her that I could remember the gas prices being 18 cents per gallon. She looked at me and said, “Yes, and they hadn’t gone to the moon yet and they didn’t have computers then either, and to look at the progress we have made since you were a boy.” Boy, that took a lot of bang out of my little statement. I hadn’t even gone to Korea to help free that country then either. Many other things have changed along the way.

You know, I would not give up what we have today for our many yesterdays, well, maybe not all of them, like back in college and the people we had back then, loving, caring, and serious people, some of them, I will NEVER forget them, nor do I want to. Memories are boundless, going from playing sports, to learning to love and learning to stop loving, but wait a minute, learning to stop loving. Now that will never happen. I guess you just have to learn to live with what you are handed, memories and all that. Golly, some of them are hard to live with, but they are all the same, like my coach used to tell us, “You gotta live with what you are handed.” Wow, here comes my coach in it again.

Getting back to reality now. Life has to go on and we must all be prepared for it. There isn’t a better way to be prepared that to get a good First Aid Kit for your home, your auto, your place of work, your vacations, anywhere you go you need a good first aid kit to go along with you. We will always be in a situation where we will need to have a first aid kit handy so we can take care of our little and big bang ups.

If you don’t want to buy from my website www.ourfirstaidkit.com, then get one from some other source, but GET ONE now!!! Good luck and God Speed.
